DIASTER PREPAREDNESS

Debris Site SelectionPlanning

The volume of debris following a disaster can cause devastating damage and disruption for a community. Even more daunting are the logistics of removing the debris quickly - while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Since its inception, Axzons has managed the collection and disposal of close to 43 million cubic yards of debris. Through our Site Selection and Planning services, we help clients map out an effective system for the handling of debris after a natural or man-made disaster.

Site Selection

Due to our vast experience in debris management, Axzons understands the requirements necessary for an adequate TDSRS (Temporary Debris Staging and Reduction Site). During the Site Selection process, our disposal experts review logistics, acreage, vegetative and population density, local ordinances and contract reduction methods to identify ideal locations.

Debris Planning

Our Debris Planning services help jurisdictions develop a cost-effective plan for the clearance, removal, and disposal of debris caused by a catastrophic event. We can also assist in updating and improving a jurisdiction’s current disaster debris clean-up plan. A Debris Planning strategy includes:

  • An organizational assessment
  • A TDSRS evaluation to include Tier 1, 2, and 3 sites
  • A detailed summary of debris removal operations available to implement when necessary
  • An action plan that outlines the specific steps that need to occur at each phase of the disaster debris clean-up process.
  • Coordination of partnering relationships with local, state and federal agencies involved with disaster debris clean-up responsibilities.
